Barbara Ann Corcoran

 Barbara Ann Corcoran was a businesswoman, investor and speaker from the United America. The Corcoran Group, an NYC real estate brokerage was established by Corcoran. NRT bought it in 2001 for $66 million. Corcoran then left the business. Corcoran is among ABC's original Shark Tank investors. As of now, she has been in every 12 seasons of Shark Tank. She has been involved in 53 deals as of February, 2020. The largest was a $350,000 purchase to cover 40% of Coverplay. Corcoran was born in Edgewater (New Jersey) as the second child of ten in a Catholic Irish working class family. Florence Corcoran's mother was a homemaker. Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. was her father. He was constantly moving from one job to another throughout Corcoran's youth. Her family frequently depended on food delivery services for free from the local grocer. Corcoran remembers her father as an alcohol-dependent drunkard who often treated her mother with contempt and disrespect, especially after he had been drinking. Corcoran struggled through her schooling and was diagnosed with dyslexia. She went to an area Catholic elementary school before beginning the high school system in St. Cecilia High School in Englewood. Corcoran who was in the process of failing many classes during her freshman year, moved to Leonia High School. There she was awarded a D.
